Key features of the Angeles Crest highway include serpentine curves and views featuring endless acres of burnt tinderstick trees. There was a fire here in 2009, the first major one in over 100 years (or so I was told). Another object lesson in nature always getting its way.
I was unable to completely follow my custom Dave-designed route due to a closure of Big Tujunga Canyon Road, so instead I just stayed on the Angeles Crest Hwy until I made it to this moto-packed roadhouse. Angeles Crest felt like another one of those purpose-built motorcycle playgrounds… what I’m starting to find shocking is that more people don’t ride down here. The lane-splitting alone kinda makes it a no-brainer.
